Ever wonder if there is such thing as MMORPG in Facebook? Well yes there is! Aside from the game Bling Town, players can now look forward to a new MMORPG call Faunasphere. This game is made for those who love environment friendly theme and interactions with real people and pets (a bit of like Pokemons without the balls).
Faunasphere is a MMORPG is developed and the theme to this game is not only as a RPG game, but also to provide a bit of education to players about the environment and pollutions that we lived in.
Players will be asked to create an account as soon as the game loads. The game will also required you to pick a pet and players can choose from the 3 default pets available.
Pick carefully as each pets has its own special ability later on in the game. Once the game loaded, player will then be introduce to their own Fauna. This is where players can learn how to do a bit of decorations later on in the game and turn a barren land into a garden of Babylon. Once the tutorial is over, players will then be asked to step into a portal which will allow players to be transported into another zone all together. This is where the real games begin!
The zone is totally not isolated and as soon as player is transported there, players will be greeted by other players who have been in the game. Player can then run around and start interacting with the other players in Fauna. They can make new friends and also do trades. Due to this is a flash game, there are limitations to the chat. You can only talk when be heard by people near to you or you can send a private message. There is no main chat board in this game.
While you are in the main zone, players will have an option to interact with the environment. This is where the main theme of being environment friendly comes in. players will need to use their pet’s special collar to zap away any pollution that they see. Some are very harmless while others can bring harm to your pets. Your pets’ special abilities will also allow them to interact with the environment around them. Horse can be use to shake the nearby trees and turtle can swim.
Once players get familiar in their environments, players can either go to another zone all together (If that current zone is getting a bit too crowded) or do quest. Yes, there is quest available in this game and all players have to do is to find the Quest Portal which will provide players with various types of quest to take. Some are easy while some takes a bit of work, this you will have to find out yourself.
Do note that your pet will get tired after zapping all the pollutions around you, so do remember to feed them and keep them happy. The little green collar they wear around their neck actually drains your pets health as they use them to fight pollutions.
The game also provides players to create new pets from the current one they have by getting enough Lux and time. Once you wish to make a new pet, players can just go back to their own Fauna and do a bit of experimenting with the pets they have to create a new one. New pets will be very tiny compare to the current one you have so you will have to spend time and raise it.
This game is updated regularly so player can expect a lot of changes going on as you play it.
Very animated like graphics. The in-game tutorial characters somehow remind me of Disney’s Kim Possible. Animation is not smooth at all so be prepare to see lag when you move your pet around the screen. The graphic itself looks a bit plain in certain areas and players must keep in mind that this is a Flash base MMORPG so there will be limitations.
Not much sound in this game, you will hear a lot of zapping going around since a lot of players will be running around and zap any pollutions that they can find.
This is a very good try for the developers to blend in MMORPG and Facebook together. This game is recommended for those who wish to have a small feel of MMORPG in their lives, but do not wish to get too involved with the complex of real MMORPG. Furthermore to implement pollutions fighting with pets is a brilliant idea. I wish to see what new updates this game will bring to the Facebook Community.
I give this game a 3.5 out of 5 rating.
